Comedy needs a comic, a room and people willing to show up. Bangkok Comedy helps those people find one another.

A scene made by people

The stars here are the comedians taking a risk on stage, the organisers building a night from scratch, the venue teams making space for it and the audience giving the room its energy. The calendar is an invitation to meet them.

You can meet the comedians, follow the people who put the nights on, explore the rooms that welcome them, or choose a show and join the crowd.

The practical bit

The current guide covers 30 regular nights across 23 venues, from free open mics to ticketed showcases. Each show page gives you the doors time, showtime, price and route to the room, so the details do not get in the way of the night out.

The poster archive remembers the people and rooms that shaped earlier chapters of the scene. It currently holds 1,491 nights from venues that have since closed, including The Comedy Joint.

Why doors and showtime are listed separately

Because they're different, and getting it wrong sends people to a dark room. Where a venue tells us both, both appear.

Keeping it true

A comedy listing is perishable. Rooms close, promoters pause, a Tuesday night moves across the city, and a page written in January is quietly wrong by April unless somebody goes back and checks. So we do: we ask the promoters, we notice when a room goes quiet, and we take a night down when it stops running. We wrote up what happens when nobody does that after checking every comedy listing on a long-running Bangkok events site.
