Board game cafés in Bangkok: where to play, what it costs, when they open

Thirteen places where you can walk in, take a game off the shelf and play, from Siam Square to Ekkamai. Checked on 18 October 2026, along with the cafés older guides still send people to that have since closed.

Most Bangkok board game cafés charge by the hour, per person, and let you play anything on the shelf. Many also sell an all-day pass, which is cheaper than three or four hours. Staff, often called game masters, will help you pick a game for your group and teach it, which is the main reason to go to a café rather than buy a box and argue over the rules at home.

Two things are worth knowing before you go. Plenty of the games are Thai editions, so if your group needs English rules and cards, ask when you arrive. And a café with a full shelf is not a meetup: if you are on your own and want people to play with, look at the hosted board game nights instead, or at COUCOU and Battlefield below.

Every café below was checked on 18 October 2026 on its own website or social page and its Google Maps listing. Hours change on public holidays, so check before a long trip.

Quest, MBK Center

On the seventh floor of MBK (room M8/2), connected to BTS National Stadium. Quest is a board game café and a trading card shop, with weekly Pokémon, Magic and Lorcana tournaments, so expect a card-game crowd on some nights. Dice Cup, Chula Soi 5

In Suan Luang Square on Chula Soi 5. Dice Cup calls itself the largest board game café in Bangkok, with more than 400 games to play and 3,000 for sale, plus food, drinks and private rooms. It opens at 14:00 on weekdays and 11:00 at weekends, and stays open until midnight. It doesn't publish its prices online, so ask at the counter. Its old website now goes somewhere unrelated; use its social pages. Facebook · Instagram

Siam Board Games Cafe, CentralWorld

The café side of Siam Board Games, a Thai game publisher. The CentralWorld branch is inside B2S on the fourth floor, between BTS Siam and Chit Lom, and is open daily from 12:00 to 21:00. Play starts at ฿49 an hour, depending on the promotion running. There are branches in B2S or similar shops at Central Eastville, Central Westgate, Mega Bangna, The Mall Ngamwongwan, Lotus's Bangna-Trad, Central Future Park Rangsit and Fashion Island, so if you are already at a mall, it may be the nearest. One reviewer found the games mostly in Thai. Website

Tortuga, Banthat Thong

An izakaya and board game bar on Banthat Thong Road, on the Chula side. It is a bar first: come for food, drinks and a game rather than an hourly table. Open daily from 16:00 to 02:00, which makes it the late option on this side of town. It doesn't publish a game fee. Facebook

Victory Monument, Ratchada and Kasetsart

Turn The Tables, Victory Monument

A third-floor games room on Soi Ratchawithi 3, upstairs from Let's Say Café, which supplies the food and drink. Google Maps lists it under Let's Say. It calls itself a co-playing space and runs Magic: The Gathering events, and reviewers mention an owner who speaks very good English. Open daily from 14:00 to 22:00. A 2024 guide put the price at ฿50 an hour or ฿180 for the day; the café doesn't publish a current price. Facebook

Tea Run Fun Toy, Ratchada

On Ratchadaphisek Road near MRT Huai Khwang, with laser tag next door. It opens at 14:00 on weekdays and 12:00 at weekends, and stays open until 02:00 on Friday and Saturday nights. Regulars can buy a ฿699 monthly membership. A 2024 guide gave hourly prices of ฿39 on weekdays and ฿59 at weekends; ask for today's rate. Facebook

Box & Brew, Kasetsart

On Phahon Yothin Soi 40, next to a FamilyMart and opposite Kasetsart University, so expect students. Open from 12:00 to 21:00 on weekdays and until 22:00 at weekends. A 2024 guide gave ฿40 an hour or ฿200 for the day; the café doesn't publish a current price. Facebook

Ekkamai and further down Sukhumvit

GameHaus, Ekkamai

At 495/1 Sukhumvit 63, on Ekkamai Road, sharing the building with Mary's Cafe. This is the old Kopi-O, which moved from Sukhumvit 31. Reviewers say the game masters explain rules in Thai and English, and one put the price at ฿60 per person an hour late last year. Open Tuesday to Sunday from 11:00 to midnight; closed on Mondays. Facebook

COUCOU Social Game Bar & Café, Ekkamai

A game bar on Ekkamai Soi 12 built for meeting people. Entry is ฿80 per person, which covers unlimited games and snacks, and you're expected to order something from the bar or kitchen. It runs weekly social nights: Meet & Play on Wednesdays from 18:00, The Social Guild on Thursdays from 18:00 for expats and locals in their 20s and 30s, and Social Night on Saturdays from 19:30, mostly in English. Open Tuesday to Sunday until 02:00; closed on Mondays. Walk in or reserve a table. Website

Battlefield Bangkok, Sukhumvit 101/1

Battlefield is mainly a tabletop role-playing and Warhammer place, in a hobby shop on the second floor at 71 Sukhumvit 101/1, opposite the Olive Hotel, reached by the skywalk from BTS Punnawithi. Its weekly D&D, Warhammer and Magic groups are the main draw, but there are board games on the shelves too, and it costs nothing to drop in and play.
