About the night

Improv 101 is Zmack Improv Training Center's beginner course in improv theatre at La Mesa Coffee Co. in Bangkok. No previous improv or acting experience is required, and you don't have to be funny. It runs in English, but you don't need perfect English.

Classes run from 1pm to 5pm on five Saturdays: 31 October, 7 November, 14 November, 21 November and 28 November 2026, with two lessons each Saturday. The 20 hours of training cover character, relationships, listening, collaboration, confidence, creativity and thinking on your feet. Groups are 8 to 12 people, taught by Zmack's founder, Curt Mabry.

The fee is ฿11,500 for the full course. It includes a ZITC team T-shirt, a graduation certificate and 20% off the La Mesa menu on each class day. Registration covers the whole course, not individual classes. Companies can pay for places; ask Curt for an invoice.

The group performs a graduation show on Saturday 12 December. Admission is free for everyone. The show time has not been announced yet.

A Wednesday evening version, 7–9:30pm from 4 November to 27 January, will run only if enough people want it. Message Curt if you do.

The course is presented in partnership with BASE Playhouse and La Mesa Connect. Classes take place at La Mesa Coffee Co., 7/2 Sukhumvit Soi 68, near BTS Udom Suk. To enrol, message Curt on WhatsApp from the course page.
