About the night
A two-hour improv comedy workshop held outdoors in Benchasiri Park, a short walk from BTS Phrom Phong. It is a class rather than a show — you take part rather than watch — and it is built for people who have never done it before.
The format takes its cue from Whose Line Is It Anyway?: short games, quick scenes, and exercises that get a group of strangers playing together fast. The facilitator, Nelson, trained at UCB Los Angeles, has performed and taught improv in more than twenty cities, and founded the Bangkok International Improv Festival.
All levels are welcome and the session is explicitly ESL-friendly, so English does not need to be your first language. The stated aims are the ones improv is genuinely good at: confidence, listening, reading body language, and being comfortable making a decision in front of other people.
The group meets at the lady and child statue near the park gate. Tickets are ฿300 for Bangkok Artists Meetup members and ฿600 otherwise, booked through the Meetup listing.
