About the night

Sheldon Penner leads Take the Hit, a Zmack Improv Mixer at La Mesa Coffee Co. on Thursday 5 November 2026 at 7pm.

Improvisers usually learn to say "yes, and". Sheldon's way in is to take the hit: notice how your partner's words or actions land with you, react, then build on that reaction. He has picked the games and exercises for the night, and everybody gets to play.

Sheldon has performed with The Groundlings in Los Angeles, Comedy Club Bangkok, Zmack Thailand and Up2U in Pattaya, and has led improv workshops in Pattaya for the past 15 years. He describes improv as the horse he's been falling off all his life.

Beginners, first-timers and experienced improvisers are all welcome, and you need no experience. Come on your own or bring a friend.

Entry is ฿250. La Mesa is on Sukhumvit Soi 68, 400 metres from BTS Udom Suk.
