About the night

The Comedy Club Bangkok runs two improv workshops over the weekend of 7 and 8 November, in its room above The Royal Oak on Sukhumvit 33/1. Both run from 2:30pm to 5:30pm.

Saturday's Day 1 is for complete beginners. You learn to listen, say "Yes, And", build a scene and play the short-form games made famous by Whose Line Is It Anyway? The club also sells it as a way to get more confident, speak better in public and meet people.

Sunday's Day 2 picks up from there with status, character, more short-form games and a first look at longer scenes. It is for people who did Day 1 or have done some improv before.

Each day is ฿1,500, or ฿1,200 each if you book with a friend. The weekend pass for both days is ฿2,500. Every workshop comes with a free ticket to one of the club's upcoming improv shows. Tickets are on Megatix, and the workshops are for ages 17 and over.

Eric Scholl, the club's resident improv comedian, teaches both days. He trained at Upright Citizens Brigade and with Freestyle Love Supreme in New York, and has taught improv in the US and in Thailand. If you are not sure which day suits you, email info@comedyclubbkk.com.
